COMACO has partnered with Elephant Cooperation, a US-based 501(c)3 charitable organization, to further each otherʼs missions. COMACO reduces encroachment and illegal logging practices that impact elephant habitats and also reduce the need for poaching by increasing farmer income and food security. It does this by using market incentives to encourage the adoption of high-yielding sustainable agricultural practices and to abandon those practices harmful to wildlife. Elephant Cooperation takes a holistic approach to conservation, knowing that to save the African elephant, the community also must benefit.
All US donations sent through Elephant Cooperation are tax-deductible and those earmarked for COMACO are transmitted 100% to us.
If you would like to make a donation by phone, please call (949) 369 8035, Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm PST. For questions or more information about Elephant Cooperation, please email us at info@elephantcooperation.com If you prefer, you may make a donation by mail:

Financing our work with loans
COMACO’s growth as a conservation approach depends very much on the number of farmers we buy crops from at prices that incentivize adoption of practices that help restore soils and recover forests. Much of this financing comes from loans. When a lender offers funds at concessionary rates, we can more easily manage the real costs of collecting crops from remote areas on bad roads and breaking even to sustain our work. Such lenders are becoming a key part to our efforts to scale conservation impact. If you wish to consider making a loan and would like to discuss your interest with our CEO/Founder, please feel free to contact him at dlewis@itswild.org.
